Oh yes I did it, I am currently smiling with embarrassment but I am not ashamed.
Today was a college preppy kind of day, well no surprise because my only destination was college. Everyday walking around I get inspired by people their outfits, their hair, their shoes… this week I noticed everyone was getting into the spring/summer kind of feel. Admittedly I am one of those people that like to dress “for their mood/the weather” but I feel like I am saying something without having to say anything at all. Which is very helpful in my life because I am so very lazy. I also feel like it is unacceptable to wear light denim, pastel or white jeans in the winter months, I am the only one with this weird kind of phobia? Anyway the sun was shining there were no clouds in the sky so the light denim jeans came out which I probably hadn’t seen since October. They are from zara and are rolled up at the bottom with a frayed detail which makes them look extremely casual. I tucked in a low crew neck plain white top from topshop and wore an unbuttoned shirt from Jack Wills which is pink and white striped. I paired the outfit was some black tassel loafers from topshop, plus there was no need for a coat! Overall it was a totally different look for me today but I loved the experiment. Two people complimented me and said how “summery” I looked so I guess I will be wearing it again someday in the summer with a pair of shorts and pretty sandals.

Polka dots/spots whatever you want to call them, they’re big this spring. As soon as I saw a white shirt with black dots on in the Urban Outfitters sale for £20 I knew I had to have it! There was something inside whispering to me, telling me this was a good investment, screaming at me to get my card out and pay for it before they sold out… so I did. Designers are even in with my trend you know, don’t believe me? See for yourself! The thing about shirts is you can wear them with almost anything and any way. Today I was up early and could not be bothered to even attempt to try. I stuck on my shirt rolled up the sleeves paired it with plain black leggings and a pair of converse. Yes I may have looked like a stereotypical teenager but at the end of the day I am. What you want to do with the garment is your choice, if you want it to look designer you can. Wear your own style with pride.
I bought this powder recently in a department store sale, I have only ever used one powder before and ended up changing it for a liquid foundation. I absolutely love the Lancôme – Poudre Majeur Excellence and am so pleased I decided to purchase it. I paid around £15 for it which is brilliant value considering that it was half price and the pot is very large compared to the other powder I used. It helps to set my foundation brilliantly along with giving me a fuller coverage but is very soft on my skin. It makes me feel very comfortable and lasts all day. It is meant for ‘normal to dry skin’, my skin varies day to day sometimes I can wake up and it is dry due to different face creams or it can be oily. I think it can work for however my skin is feeling that day and the colour sets to my skin perfectly without making me look orange or heavily made up considering I have the darkest shade and I am quite pale. Although I do like my foundation/powder a bit darker than my natural skin. It comes with a small round white powder puffer but I much prefer to use my own brush from body shop because it is softer and doesn’t waste the powder. I would recommend everyone to try this at least once.
If you have used or are going to try it let me know what you think!

In the January sales I was looking to buy a luxury foundation but without the massive cost. I can’t remember exactly how much I ended up paying for the Elizabeth Arden – Flawless Finish Foundation but it was probably around £13 (half price). I have been using this ever since I bought it basically everyday. I think it would be a light/medium coverage and is a runny liquid but for me it does not give a ‘flawless finish’ or ‘bare perfection’ look. If you have wonderful smooth skin then this will probably suit you but I much prefer a fuller coverage. I have to use a powder to make the foundation set and have a fuller coverage to satisfy me. This foundation will probably last me around 6 months so it is definitely worth the money. I would recommend this foundation to people with certain skin types as it is likely to give you a more natural look compared to many other foundations.

So all us designer loving girls obviously know Net-A-Porter and today I found one of the best things ever… they have a brand new magazine out called ‘Porter’. Clearly new competition for Vogue and Elle but they’ve already won me over. We have to admit it, we were looking for something new within the luxury brand magazines and here it is. This is the first issue, which cost me £5 a bit pricey but I love it and have already decided to subscribe! On their website you can ‘shop the issue’ which is a great idea. At the moment I have only flicked through the magazine but later tonight I will read some articles and maybe if there’s a piece I really like I will make another post about it.

I have not used my Polyvore for a long time but soon I will start again. I just logged on to find my last collage was called ‘Fade to Grey’. Even though this was created some time ago, it is a classic look and would be a perfect outfit now. I would love to own this skirt if only Kenzo would lend me it for about 6 months free of charge? As right now I do not have £421 spare! This top by 3.1 Phillip Lim is just perfect it could go with any outfit and be made to look casual, sophisticated and dressy, please find yourself a space in my wardrobe! The bag is by Alexander McQueen and is £845, at the time I really liked this bag but looking back now it definitely would not of been a good lifetime investment.
I know it’s a little bit late to start a New Years resolution seen as we’re already 6 days into February but I am. I want to get fitter and tone up before my holiday in August so I’ve decided to take up running (although I have never been very good at it). But before I started I obviously needed some running trainers. I decided to buy Nike Roshe Runs because out of all the trainers I looked at they were the plainest pair I could find, I didn’t want to look like I had space stations on my feet! At a retail price of £70 on most websites I refused to buy then until I came up with a very good idea. My feet are usually a size 3/4 UK so I can fit into the ‘junior’ trainers which took them down to £40 and with student discount I got them for £35! They are so light and extremely comfortable, I don’t even realise I have them on most of the time.
Today I went for a simple look for college but at the same time a very different look than everyone else. I wore a black knit dress from Topshop (some parts are knitted differently and are slightly see-through but this cannot be seen in the photo) with some normal black tights. I wore a gold vintage chain necklace to soften the whole black outfit. I wore a cream/brown scarf and cream trench coat from Guess to add some colour.
I’ve always loved accessories especially jewellery. I mostly wear costume/vintage jewellery everyday apart from my Tiffany and Pandora bracelet. But today I had a lovely surprise from my sister who bought me a necklace where I had to basically make it myself. It came with a shell with a pearl inside, I had to crack open the shell, wash off the pearl then place it in the heart cage of the necklace. Depending on what colour pearl you get it should connote something different. Mine was a cream/pink colour connoting success, which I hope it brings seen as I’m not doing very well in college at the moment.
So I had an extremely busy weekend and didn’t get a chance to update my blog! But I’m here now and I actually had one of the best weekends ever!
Friday Night – I went to see ‘That Awkward Moment’ with my best friend Laura, I hadn’t even seen the trailer but was sold as soon as I found out Zac Efron starred in it. The film was so funny and I would definitely recommend seeing it. Later Laura gave me a bit of a make over with some new beauty products. I never realised using an eyebrow pencil could make such a difference to your face shape! I never used to care about my eyebrows because they’re light blonde but I was so shocked at how different I looked after they had been filled in lightly.
Saturday – I went into town and purchased two tops from Topshop and a pair of trousers from H&M which I will post pictures of tomorrow. That night my friend had a birthday party, I wore skinny jeans, one of my new tops with a bold statement necklace and heels. I had such a fun night but ended up walking home at about 2am without any shoes which I definitely regretted in the morning.
Sunday – My friend Harley stayed round after the party and we spent Sunday recovering by watching films. I spent Sunday night wrapping things for eBay but I didn’t really mind too much seen as I made a few extra pounds (which is seriously needed).
